At Church AI, we understand that pulpit preaching and ministry audio are sacred and proprietary to your local fellowship. We do NOT sell, license, or use your church's sermon audio, voice recordings, or transcripts to train public AI foundation models. Your live audio is processed transiently in volatile memory strictly to generate live subtitles and audio playback during your service.
1Congregation & Visitor Privacy (Zero Friction)
When church members or visitors scan your church's custom QR code to follow subtitles on their mobile phones:
- They do not create an account or provide an email address, name, or phone number.
- They do not download any app or grant invasive device permissions.
- We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels on congregant reader pages.
- Their browser establishes an anonymous read-only connection to receive real-time text and audio stream packets.
2Information We Collect From Churches
A. Church Administrator Account Data
When a church registers an administrative account, we collect the administrator's name, email address, church name, and church slug URL. This information is used to authenticate your access to the Broadcaster Studio and Admin Dashboard.
B. Billing & Subscription Details
Billing transactions are handled directly through our PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor, Square. Church AI does not collect or store full credit card numbers or banking passwords on our servers.
C. Audio Streaming Ingest & Buffering
During an active live broadcast, 16kHz linear PCM audio packets sent from your sound booth mixer are processed through our low-latency neural pipeline. Audio is held in volatile memory only long enough to transcribe spoken phrases and is discarded immediately after processing.
D. Sermon Series & Custom Glossaries
Names, scripture citations, and theological keywords configured in your Church Admin dashboard are stored securely in your church's private database to enhance speech recognition accuracy during broadcasts.
3How We Use Church Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and optimize real-time multilingual live sermon streaming and translation.
- To deliver live captions to congregants and sanctuary projector overlays in sub-1.5 seconds.
- To process subscription payments and manage your church billing plan.
- To respond to help desk tickets, product feedback, and technical support requests submitted by your team.
- To detect and prevent fraudulent account activity or abuse of our computing infrastructure.
4Enterprise Infrastructure & Sub-Processors
We partner exclusively with tier-1 enterprise cloud providers to deliver high-availability, low-latency streaming infrastructure:
Firebase & Google Cloud Platform manage encrypted authentication, real-time database synchronizations, and serverless hosting under enterprise SOC 2 compliance.
Square processes subscription billing and payment methods with bank-grade encryption and PCI-DSS compliance.
All infrastructure sub-processors operate under contractual data protection agreements requiring zero secondary data retention and strict confidentiality.
5Data Retention & Your Right to Delete
Your church maintains complete control over its stored data. At any time, church administrators can:
- Export past sermon transcripts and translation logs in standard formats.
- Clear or update custom glossary entries and sermon series metadata.
- Permanently delete past broadcast sessions from church history.
- Request full account and church workspace deletion by contacting our Support Desk.
6Children's Privacy
Our Service is designed to be family-friendly and safe for worship sanctuaries. Because congregant mobile readers do not collect personal identifying information (no names, dates of birth, or email addresses), Church AI fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
7Data Security Standards
We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect church data:
- End-to-end transport encryption via TLS 1.3 and HTTPS for all web traffic.
- Encrypted WebSocket connections (WSS) for real-time audio transmission.
- Fine-grained role-based access control protecting church administrative settings.
- Regular automated vulnerability scans and continuous monitoring.
